Tufts University provides a rating guide for nutrition websites according to ten different categories. The ratings system is based according to the accuracy of the information, depth of information, when the site was last updated, and the user experience. There are 20 sites which are rated under the category for educators.

Gateway to Government Food Safety Information
This U.S. Federal government site provides links to food safety information issued by the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention), FDA (Food and Drug Administration), EPA (Environmental Protection Agency), and FSIS (Food Safety and Inspection Service).

Nutrition Calculators
This neat site with nutrition calculators allow you to approximate your Ideal Body Weight and Body Mass Index. It also allows you to calculate how many calories you burn when doing a particular activity, in the categories of Gym Activities; Sports & Training; Outdoor, Home & Daily Life Activities; and Occupational Activities, based on how long you did the activity and what your weight is.

The Center for Health and Health Care in Schools
The Center for Health and Health Care in Schools site contains information about childhood obesity, as well as health surveys, fact sheets about various issues, and resources for both educators and parents.

FitFAQ.com
Any questions you would have about fitness are answered on this FAQ site. I found this site interesting and has questions that many high schoolers would ask or would want to know the answer to.

internetfitness.com
More of a commercial site, it offers a variety of fitness training ideas from "experts" in the field. The site also includes a body mass indicator and calorie burn calculator. The site is more show than information but provides articles that may help motivate kids to exercise.

Vegetarian Nutrition for Teenagers
Some teenagers are vegetarians. This site provides information for teenage vegetarians as well as has offers for free pamphlets about vegetarianism.

Athlete's Nutrition
Student athletes would be able to dig up vital information to their diets as athletes as well as understand the energy demands that their bodies make as athletes. This site also stresses the importance of nutrition to sustaining athletes.

Mayo Clinic: Food and Nutrition Center
The Mayo Clinic Food and Nutrition Center online provides links to information about health and nutrition. Ranging from good nutrition to strategies for taking control of your diet, the links prove helpful and relevant.

Family Education: Health
Whether your students or children are from Grades Pre-K to 2nd, 3rd to 5th, or 6th to 12th, this site contains a wide range of information about health issues. Sports and fitness information for all ages is on the site, as well as expert advice on various child and adolescent issues, such as dermatitis, scoliosis, asthma, etc.
